![]() ![]() Here are a few examples of what you should put in anything that would make a comical swear word -) Just type them in a long list, with no gaps. I’ve put some basic special characters in there that tend to be commonly used in TS3 CC, but there are a few more you might come across. You’ll only need to set this up once per session. Those are the special characters we want to remove. See the bit marked Chars? I’ve typed some things in there. It’s the one at the top of all that complicated stuff, just to the right of centre. Next, we’re going to look at the little Remove pane beneath the list of names. Click anywhere in it, then hold down CTRL+A to select everything (see next image). This contains all the items inside that folder. You’re used to this kind of thing, so find the folder of items that you want to change and click it. For our purpose we just need to look at four sections: Yeah, you probably have the same look on your face that I had on mine when I first downloaded and opened up Blender: “Uh… nope!” However, this thing is a LOT easier than Blender. Holy fucking shit, look at all those buttons! HALP! Nothing dodgy bundled with it, and it installs in seconds. *ETA: Apparently, hyphens and underscores are best removed as well.īulk Rename Utility. ![]() posepack#1 by etc, then it could be slowing down your load time, as the game struggles to read the special characters. If you have a lot of CC that’s named similarly to this. Hyphens and underscores are, apparently, fine * so I’ve kept those in. I’m removing all instances of non alphanumeric characters (A-Z and/or 0-9) as well as spaces. I should have put it under a Read More, so I’m doing that now. So a good re-organise and cull of old CC was in order, and the renaming of files was the first part of it.ĮTA: Apologies. I dread clicking into it, either deliberately or accidentally, because it takes about 2 minutes to do anything. Oh, and my Decor folder is an absolute mess. When I first start CC Magic and fire up a new game, it can take something close to 15-20 minutes before the Maxis load screen starts (although, if I quit TS3 but keep CC Magic open, then restart TS3, it loads quickly it’s the initial load that takes forever). I have tons of CC installed (probably close to around 19GB of the stuff, mostly build and decor items) and it’s all through CC Magic. Renaming files worked for TS2 players, and I’ve seen reports that it also helps speed up loading time for TS3 players, so I figured why the hell not give it a go. This morning I thought I was in for a hell of a job, given that I’m doing a complete overhaul of my installed CC, but this fantastic little program made fast and light work of what could have been a daunting task. ![]()
